Joseph Hammon (ca. 1753-1829)

Joseph was born in Cumberland Parish, Virginia in about 1753. He is believed to be a son of John Hammon and a 2nd wife, who is unknown. This second marriage would explain the large gap between the birth of James and the sibilings which followed. Joseph served in the 14th VA Regiment, Col. DAVIDSON, Capt. BOLL's Company and was discharged in March 1779. He died in 1829 in Surry County, North Carolina.
