My Hammons Genealogy
and other blood-related branches
Virtually nothing is known of John Hammon II. The only documentation found is that he served during the French & Indian War in 1756. Based on this date I have made a very rough guestimate that he was probably about 20 years of age when he served, making his birth year about 1736. This would make him the youngest of John Hammon Sr. and his first unknown wife. The major issue is that it appears John moved into South Carolina where many records were destroyed during the Civil War as Union troops burned court houses to the ground. This is speculation based on the fact that a John Hammon III appears in Hall County, Georgia censuses in the early 1800's. DNA confirms Hammon connections to Hall County, Georgia which makes this connection highly probable.
I have decided to begin the process of adding descendants of John, though I do so with extreme caution. These are provided based on circumstantial and speculative evidence.
